A rearrangement of interests within Greece’s Laskaridis clan has left the branch descending from Panos, the elder of the two brothers at its helm, with the upper hand in shipping.

In an email to TradeWinds, Panos declined to reveal the details of the restructuring, other than to say it was the “result of a long-planned generational change”.

The board of Lavinia Corp, the family’s main shipping outfit with a fleet of more than 40 bulkers, has not changed and “the company looks forward with increased confidence”, he said.
