Carnival struck a five-year extension to its agreement at Port Everglades, giving its ships a home at the top-three port until 2030.

The cruiseship giant's agreement with Broward County Board of County Commissioners gives Miami-headquartered Carnival preferential access to the Fort Lauderdale port's Terminal 4.

That brings Carnival's terminal portfolio at the port to five.

The addendum follows a $24m renovation project that ended last year at the terminal.
