Australia has clarified its screening process for commercial vessels inbound from China, stating that ships will not be subject to quarantine to prevent transmission of the Wuhan coronavirus, reports said.

The comments come a day after port services provides GAC Australia suggested that vessels would be subject to a 14-day quarantine period.

Australia is denying entry to anyone who has left or transited mainland China from 1 February in order to minimise potential spread of the virus, the Australian Border Force said on Saturday.
