Westports Holdings has reportedly seen year-on-year growth in the first two months of the third quarter despite the impact of the pandemic.

The improvement at the Malaysian container terminal operator is said to have been driven by increases in gateway volumes rather than transshipment cargoes.

“Although September 2020 indicators were not revealed, assuming the trend sustains, the high-yield gateway segment may be stronger than expected, possibly even breaching the 1m-teu mark,” UOB Kay Hian analyst Kong Ho Meng said.
