No injuries have been reported after a fire broke out on an Irish Ferries ship as it approached Dublin.

The 51,000–gt Ulysses (built 2001) was crossing from North Wales when the blaze was detected, the Daily Post reported.

A spokesman for Irish Ferries said the fire started in a lorry cab, but the cause is not yet known.

“The fire was detected immediately and didn’t spread to any other vehicles," he added.

“It was put out within minutes, thanks to the automatic water systems and the training the crew has received.
