Clipper company Seatruck Ferries has doubled down on safety practices after a seafarer fell to his death on a ropax in Liverpool, UK.

The 66-year-old assistant bosun plunged 4.5 metres through a vehicle ramp hatch on the 14,800-gt Seatruck Pace (built 2009) on 17 December 2018.

The UK Marine Accident Investigation Branch (MAIB) said he was working alone and preparing to paint the leading edge of the open ramp hatch cover.
