Belgian bulker owner Bocimar has put pen to paper on a deal to pick up a pair of capesize newbuildings under construction at Zhoushan Jinhaiwan Shipyard in China.

Parent Compagnie Maritime Belge (CMB) says the 176,000 vessels will be named Mineral Hope and Mineral Faith when they hit the water in June of this year.

In a note to investors, the company said the transaction was sealed on “very competitive terms” but failed to pin down an exact price.

When TradeWinds pressed Benoit Timmermans about the deal back in April he confirmed the purchase but also declined to elaborate on cost.

At the time the ships, which were originally ordered by troubled Chinese operator Grand China Logistics, were believed to have fetched around $36.5m a piece.
