Greek group Laskaridis Shipping says its acquisition of a platform supply vessel (PSV) at auction is a one-off move.

The company confirmed to TradeWinds its purchase of the 4,500-dwt Malaviya Twenty (built 2004), now renamed Typhoon.

It said the ship is heading to the Astander shipyard in Santander, Spain, for maintenance work and drydocking after two years in layup.

Utilisation will be considered "in due course", it added, saying the group is not entering the offshore sector with the deal, its first OSV.
