A veteran containership laid-up following the collapse of Hanjin Shipping has been scrapped.
Alpha Ship’s 1,600-teu Orion (built 1997) has arrived in Gadani for demolition, Alphaliner reports.
The research company says the Polish-built vessel was the last containership still in lay-up after dropping anchor in the wake of Hanjin’s 2016 bankruptcy.
According to VesselsValue the ship was one of two in the Alpha Ships’ fleet.
