Chinese owners have beaten off Greek competition to secure a Parakou Tankers MR sold at auction earlier this week.
The unnamed buyer has reportedly paid $12m for the 51,000-dwt Pretty Scene (built 2006) plus bunker fuel.
The ship has been detained off Durban, South Africa for more than a year as a result of Parakou’s legal feud with Jinhui Shipping.
