Poland's Polferries has bought a ro-pax with a chequered history and owned by Singapore shipbuilder ST Marine.
The company told local media that the 27,700-gt Nova Star (built 2014) will launch at the end of March between Gdansk and Nynashamn in Sweden.
No price has been revealed.
CEO Piotr Redmerski said: "Finally, we will have a ferry that will meet the expectations of the Scandinavian market.
