McKeil Marine is making its first steps in tankers, according to several broker reports identifying the Canadian family outfit as the buyer of two small Turkish vessels.
The company, based in Burlington, Ontario, is believed to have paid Transal Denizcilik about $17.5m in total for the 14,000-dwt Topaz-T (built 2009) and Turquoise-T (built 2008).
Managers at the two companies had not responded to a request for comment at the time of writing.
