Tsunieshi Group (Zhoushan) Shipbuilding was incorporated in 2003 as a stern blocks and hull-body maker.

It was in 2007 that it officially entered the shipbuilding arena after receiving approval from the Chinese government to construct a full vessel. However, due to Beijing’s clampdown on capacity, the yard was only allowed to build ships up to 100,000 dwt — and this policy still stands today.
