A near $12bn dash for new LNG carriers and a sharp upturn in spending from Greek shipowners eased a little pressure on the world’s shipbuilders in 2018.

Yards in South Korea were the largest beneficiaries of the upturn in a year which also saw a rise in new containership orders.
