Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (KSOE) has inked orders for eight newbuildings worth KRW 835bn ($733m).

The Hyundai Heavy Industries Holdings (HHIH) subsidiary, which controls shipyards within the group, said it has secured orders for four 15,900-teu containerships, two VLGCs, a midsize LPG carrier and an MR tanker.

KSOE did not disclose the identity of the shipowners behind the contracts, although they said some are from Europe.
