Singapore shipbuilder Keppel Corporation has posted a big loss for the fourth quarter after being hit by a corruption fine.

The net deficit was SGD 495m ($379m), against profit of SGD 143m in 2016.

The one-off financial penalty arose from Keppel O&M's global resolution with criminal authorities in the US, Brazil and Singapore, and related legal, accounting and forensics costs amounting to SGD 619m.
