Evangelos Marinakis’ Capital Maritime & Trading has increased its stake in a red-hot containership market with a rash of fresh orders, shipbuilding sources tell TradeWinds.
The private arm of the Greek owner’s shipping empire has signed up for six conventionally fuelled 13,000-teu neo-panamax newbuildings in South Korea, sources said.
It has also snapped up six secondhand 3,750-teu panamax boxships from Rickmers Reederei.
