Oshima Shipbuiding’s discussions to buy the Koyagi shipyard in Nagasaki from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) have been held up by the coronavirus pandemic.

The Japanese shipyards had hoped to complete the talks by the end of March, but there are still no signs of a deal being done.

MHI's chief executive Seiji Izumisawa said during the firm's 2019 earnings presentation that the deal had not fallen through and that talks had simply been delayed.
