Nagasaki prefectureOshima Shipbuilding has announced it has signed a contract to acquire Mitsubishi Heavy Industries’ (MHI) Koyagi shipyard.
The move is the latest development in the ongoing consolidation of the Japanese shipbuilding industry, which is struggling against low-cost competition from China and South Korea.
No price has been disclosed.
