Qingdao Yangfan Shipbuilding is poised to make a newbuilding comeback four years after falling victim to cash flow problems — with sources citing an arm of Compagnie Maritime Belge (CMB) as being behind the deal.

The bulker specialist is said to have signed a letter of intent with a European company for up to six 5,500-teu containership newbuildings in a deal potentially worth $288m.
