Italian oil services contractor Saipem says it took on more contracts than it completed in the first half of 2018, which has been a key issue for subsea companies throughout the downturn.

“We expect this commercial momentum to continue, and we anticipate an order intake in the range of €4bn [$4.6bn] or more in the second half,” Saipem chief executive Stefano Cao said in a conference call.
