Samsung Heavy Industries has agreed to pay $75m in fines to avoid prosecution in the US for its part in the ongoing Brazil bribery scandal.
The South Korean shipyard group has admitted to paying $20m to a Brazilian intermediary between 2007 and 2013 to bribe high-level executives at Petrobras to secure a lucrative shipbuilding contract, the US Department of Justice (DoJ) said.
