China’s Yangfan Group has scored a contract to build containerships worth close to $102m.

The Zhejiang-based shipbuilder confirmed it has secured an order for four 1,868-teu newbuildings from Zhejiang Haigang Shipping. The deal does not include any optional vessels.

Yangfan did not disclose the price of the Sdari-designed containerships but said the quartet is slated for delivery between September 2021 and March 2022

A shipbuilding source put the cost of the feeder containerships at around $25.5m
