Proman Stena Bulk’s new methanol-fuelled tankers have made a breakthrough for the lower-carbon fuel in Asia, the joint venture has claimed.
The joint-venture between Swedish shipowner Stena Bulk and Swiss methanol producer Proman said the 50,000-dwt Stena Pro Patria and Stena Pro Marine (both built 2022) became the first vessels to load methanol in South Korea.
The tie-up called this a “significant milestone” both for the company and for methanol uptake in the region.
