DSME has secured a firm order for three VLCCs from Greece’s Angelicoussis Shipping Group, the shipbuilder confirmed Tuesday.
The trio of 318,000-dwt crude carriers for Maran Tankers Management is costing $250m. They are due for delivery by 2018.
TradeWinds reported last week that the Greek shipowner was lining up another major tanker contract at his favoured South Korean shipyard.
DSME is currently building 18 ships for the Greek shipowner, including an FSRU, which was contracted late last year.
