Greece's Eastern Mediterranean Maritime (EastMed) has ordered newbuildings at South Korea's Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD).

The Thanassis Martinos-controlled company has confirmed that it signed up for three MR product tankers, with the Ulsan-based shipbuilder scheduled to deliver the 50,000-dwt vessels in 2019.

Martinos says the newbuildings, which will cost about $35m each, will be built to the new IMO Tier-II NOx regulations.
