Shipping Corp of India (SCI) has tied a suezmax tanker into a period deal as rates for term charters in the segment remained stable this week.

SCI is locking the 159,000-dwt Desh Shobha (built 2012) into a two-year charter with Indian Oil Corp, European shipbrokers say.

But it is understood that the tanker will not to earn much of a premium on the all-domestic charter.
