Japanese shipowner NS United Kaiun Kaisha has sold all four 20,000-dwt chemical tankers operated by its Singapore-based subsidiary as it focuses on expanding in dry bulk and the VLGC sector.
The sale and decision to quit chemicals was revealed by president Toru Obata in his new year opening address to employees.
He said: “Last year, we sold all the chemical tankers owned by our Singapore subsidiary.
