Greek owner Adam Polemis has sold a 19-year-old VLCC for demolition at a firm price as a flood of tankers head to the breakers.
Market sources in Athens and scrap brokers say the 279,000-dwt New Friendship (built 1999) was sold “as is” in Khor Fakkan at about $460 per ldt, or $17.8m. New Shipping bought it almost four years ago for $21.2m
