Norway's Viken Shipping has chartered out a pair of aframaxes for up to a year as it continues to pursue a cautious charter policy.

Chairman Hans Olav Lindal confirmed that Vitol has taken the 113,000-dwt Kronviken (built 2006) and Solviken (built 2007), which are owned by a Viken joint venture, Viken Crude.

Lindal declined to comment further on the deal, citing contract confidentiality.
