An oil major's need for a prompt tanker helped pushed spot rates for aframax tankers in the Mediterranean to their best levels since last year.
The Baltic Exchange's Ceyhan-Lavera TD19 voyage was assessed at a time charter equivalent of $21,800 per day Tuesday, a one-day jump of $4,284 per day. The rate would be the highest level since 27 October.
