Castleton locks in Eletson aframax for 12 months

Connecticut trader Castelton Commodities International has chartered an Eletson-owned aframax tanker for a year.

Brokers said the company has booked the 109,000-dwt Kastelorizo (built 2018) for a rate believed to be $15,500 per day.

TradeWinds has requested confirmation from both companies.

The rate that Casetleton is reportedly paying is somewhat higher than that a one-year aframax charter in June, when Vitol paid $12,000 per day, according to data from VesselsValue.
