Danish owner Torm has signed a deal to install ballast water treatment systems (BWTS) on 47 product tankers.
Alfa Laval will fit the PureBallast 3 Ex kit on 36 ships in existing fleet and on 11 newbuildings running up to 2024.
“Based on careful evaluation of the solutions on the market and our experience with PureBallast 3 Ex on board, we are confident that Alfa Laval is the right choice for ballast water treatment on our tankers,” said Jesper Jensen, head of technical division at Torm.
