With their close links to oil producers, Middle East tanker players perhaps have one of the closest ears to the ground when it comes to hearing how refineries are planning to meet the expected demand for low sulphur fuel (LSF) when the 2020 sulphur cap comes into force.

At this week’s TMS Tanker Conference in Dubai several of the region’s tanker players suggested that the supply concerns for LSF will not be how much is produced, it will be its availability across the world’s bunker ports.
