Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) has denied any protests took place at the eastern tanker port of Hariga on Thursday.
It called the reports "fake news stories".
NOC said it was issuing an official confirmation that no protests were made at its Hariga operations, either at the port, or Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) headquarters.
"The company’s full denial is made to clarify and correct the recent reporting as certainly false; and to emphasise the importance of keeping Libya’s oil facilities and production outside polarised political conflict, in the media and in actuality."
