Despite uncertainty in the oil markets, True North's Jerry Lichtblau remains bullish on tankers.

At Wednesday's Marine Money conference in New York, Lichtblau, a partner at the chartering firm, said Opec backing off production cuts, Iranian sanctions and the coming IMO 2020 fuel regulations will improve the environment for tankers.

“Each of these three drivers is going cause logistical adjustments" and increase tanker vessel demand, said Lichtblau, whose comments came with a caveat that an oil glut could decrease demand.
