Andreas Hadjiyiannis seems to be reaping the first fruit of the considerable tanker investments he made last year, with news of an impressive asset play in the works.
Brokers report the Greek-Cypriot owner has a preliminary agreement on subjects with an unidentified Far Eastern buyer to sell the 298,600-dwt VL Sakura (built 2001) for $24m.
If the transaction is confirmed at that price, it would secure Hellenic Tankers a profit of about $6m gained in only a few months.
