Libya's National Oil Corporation (NOC) has lifted a force majeure at the Sharara oil field after the removal of an armed group.

The militia was blamed for its blockade and a production loss of $1.8bn since the field was seized in December.

NOC said that Sharara operating company Akakus has received written assurance from the Libyan National Army’s brigadier general Al Rifi Kennah Ahmed Ali, commander of the Oil Assets Protection Unit, that all individuals have been removed from the site.
