Trader and shipowner Vitol is shaking up its tanker operations by taking full control of a joint asphalt shipping venture set up with Sargeant Marine of the US.
The company said it had agreed to acquire Sargeant's 50% share of the UK-based VALT operation, which was formed in 2016.
This will make it 100%-owned and allow its integration into Vitol's core trading business.
