Authorities are about to relax rules on large tanker transits through the Dardanelles — the western part of the Turkish straits.
A working group within the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is devising measures to smooth traffic flows after congestion peaked last month, according to local shipping agents.
The new rules are expected to take effect soon, possibly from the end of this month, an official with Istanbul’s Zihni Shipping Agency told TradeWinds.
