The Awilhelmsen Group of Norway is to install scrubbers on its four modern VLCCs.

The work will be carried out at Keppel Shipyard in Singapore at a cost of about $4m each.

“This is not an environmental move but a result of the new rules that the politicians are setting on the agenda for 2020,” said Awilco Eco Tankers chief executive Jens-Julius Ramdahl Nygaard, whose company owns the quartet.
