Four IMO type 2 chemical tankers ordered at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard under Shell’s project Solar have been contracted as dual-fuel vessels by fund manager JP Morgan.

TradeWinds has learned that the 25,000-dwt tankers will be capable of running on LNG and have been booked by the financier against time charter business with Shell.

Newbuilding sources said the tankers will have a range of around 14,800 kilometres (8,000 nautical miles) using LNG as bunkers and will trade in the Baltic Sea region.
