South Africa fuel maker Sasol has agreed to finance the first South African-owned chemical tanker by empowered entity, Nduna Maritime.
It has provided SAR 400m ($26.4m) to finance the acquisition of the 37,345-dwt Bow Cecil (built 1998) from Norwegian shipowner Odfjell.
Sasol said this was the company’s largest ever enterprise and supplier development (ESD) funding agreement through its Sasol Siyakha Trust.
