Arne Fredly swoops in on AET's VLCC with $40m bid

Norway's Arne Fredly is linked to the sale of a 14-year-old VLCC by AET Tankers, at a hot price that speaks volumes for the frenzy surrounding tankers lately.

TradeWinds reported last week that Greek interests had acquired the 300,000-dwt Bunga Kasturi Tiga (built 2006) for $38m. However, AET Tankers, a Singapore-headquartered tanker subsidiary of Malaysia’s MISC Berhad, dismissed that information.
