Energy major BP is re-circulating a requirement in the market for up to two VLCCs to take on time charter, stipulating that they will be compliant with the incoming new restrictions on NOx and SOx emissions from 2020.
Brokers say BP, which made an earlier attempt to secure tonnage for this business in the summer, is seeking one to two VLCCs for a charter period of three years plus two one-year options to extend the hire.
