Clarksons Research has revealed a cautiously upbeat stance on tanker markets next year, with oil supply and demand set to enjoy steady expansion.

The research arm of shipbroking giant Clarksons said it was “broadly positive” on the outlook for 2023.

The company is forecasting total tanker demand growth of 4% in deadweight terms.

Macro-economic headwinds remain clear, as do continued shifts in oil trade patterns towards longer-haul routes, Clarksons Research said.
