A seafarer suffering from an unspecified "upper respiratory illness" was medevaced by Coast Guard boat from a tanker offshore Texas over the weekend.

The US Coast Guard said the 58-year-old was aboard an unidentified 600-foot tanker in an anchorage 15 miles southeast of Galveston before being taken off the ship Sunday.

When contacted by TradeWinds, the Coast Guard would not say if the crew member had, was tested for or was suspected to have Covid-19.
