New York-listed Euronav is to contract two suezmax newbuildings for long-term charter to Valero Energy.

The company said the ice-class 1C vessels will be fixed for seven years after delivery from Hyundai Heavy Industries in Korea.

The deals brings to four the number of term charters it has for suezmaxes.

"Additional specifications for these vessels include substantially increased steel structure, specific emissions controls and other bespoke operational capabilities," it said.
