Athens-based Oxygen Maritime Management has lost its battle to keep control of a product tanker that has been under arrest off Singapore for the past year.

An as-yet-unidentified Greek buyer is reported to have submitted a winning bid for the 36,955-dwt Megacore Honami (built 2010) at an auction earlier this month, with prices of between $10.5m and $11.5m mentioned.

Officials at the Sheriff of Singapore’s office confirmed to TradeWinds that an acceptable bid was submitted at the auction and that the process of handing over the ship had begun.
