Hafnia beefs up pools staff as director heads to Singapore

The pooling arm of Oslo-listed Hafnia Management is bolstering staff in a boost to its growth ambitions, while shifting the location of a director.

Hafnia has hired Alex Svolakis, a 20-year veteran of Maersk Broker, to join its Copenhagen office, boosting its pools staff to five.

Svolakis, 42, has an extensive background in sale-and-purchase deals as well as time charter/projects activity, according to Peter Kolding, vice president for commercial and pool management.

“With his broking background, we are adding another angle to how we approach attracting new partners for our pools and, with Alex’s extensive network in the industry, there will be plenty of avenues to pursue from the get-go,” Kolding told TradeWinds.
